Well, he got the call. We can finally announce that JjLJr is the newest member of the 3rd shift. We’re proud of his decision to submit an application and take a chance on a new field. I’m sure you will do fine. You’re smart, energetic, and willing to work hard and contribute to success. You’ve got 3 of the best people there are. TC, MF and BB have been with us a long time, and will take you through the paces and get you ‘production ready’. Good luck, listen closely, learn a lot, work hard and make friends. And most of all have fun. This is serious business, but we can still enjoy our day or night as it may be.
From my AJ, a great idea.
Here’s a solution to all the controversy over full-body scanners at the airports:
All we need to do is develop a booth that you can step into that will not X-ray you, but will detonate any explosive device you may have hidden on or in your body. The explosion will be contained within the sealed booth.
This would be a win-win for everyone. There would be no racial profiling and the device would eliminate long and expensive trials. This is so simple it’s brilliant!
I can see it now: you’re in the airport terminal and you hear a muffled explosion. Shortly thereafter an announcement comes over the PA system, "Attention standby passengers, we now have a seat available on flight number…”
I absolutely agree with this article. Traffic cams: Endangering rights – and lives – And I remind everyone, that if these camera are truly for safety reasons, then there should be a sign near them announcing them, instead of being hidden. Don’t you suppose if there were signs like this, the drivers wouldn’t blow the red light ?
Now this is a great story – Sharron Angle sends Joy Behar flowers – I especially like the last quote from that filthy hag Joy Behore
“I don’t know if it’s a sense of humor, but I’d like to point out those flowers were picked by illegal immigrants,” Behar said. “And they aren’t voting for you, bitch.”
Who might those ‘Illegal Immigrants’ be voting for honey ???
From DC, the way I like it – short and sweet – Who Does The Land of Israel Belong To ?
Who Does The Land of Israel Belong To ?
An Israeli Sense of Humor at UN set the record straight.
An ingenious example of speech and politics occurred recently in the
United Nations Assembly and made the world community smile.
A representative from Israel began: ‘Before beginning my talk I want to
tell you something about Moses:
When he struck the rock and it brought forth water, he thought, ‘What a
good opportunity to have a bath!’
Moses removed his clothes, put them aside on the rock and entered the
water. When he got out and wanted to dress, his clothes had vanished. A
Palestinian had stolen them!
The Palestinian representative at the UN jumped up furiously and shouted,
‘What are you talking about? The Palestinians weren’t there then.’
The Israeli representative smiled and said, ‘And now that we have made
that clear, I will begin my speech…’.
Well, it looks like we are going to have a daughter-in-law in a couple of years. Our middle son JaL popped the question to his future bride, KpM. Good luck guys, we are very proud of both of you. We welcome KpM to our family. Joe was creative and proposed after dinner at Benihana. Today is also the 35th anniversary of KpM’s parents, A&EM. Congratulations to you guys as well. Joe & Kim get engaged – October 2010
Check this out. Was playing around with Google Street view and hanging at our spot on 5th avenue. The scaffolding is still up, so it’s a somewhat old photo. It will change soon I suspect, so for now, we are captured …
I don’t know how he finds this stuff, and I don’t wanna know. But here it is, meatball flavored bubble gum. For that inner ginny in you.
Congrats to our favorite RN, KpM, started her job at LIJ today. Good luck, you’ll do great. We are all proud of you…. You worked very hard for this day.
From TR, a friendly reminder – welcome to Obamaland …
A man and a woman in a hot air balloon realized they were lost. They lowered their altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. The woman shouted to him, "Excuse me, can you help me? We promised friends we would meet them an hour ago, but I don’t know where we are."
The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, "you’re in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2,346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude."
She rolled her eyes and said, "you must be a republican."
"I am," replied the man. "How did you know?"
"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct. But I have no idea what to do with your information, and I’m still lost. Frankly, you’ve not been much help to me."
The man smiled and responded, "you must be an Obama Democrat."
"I am," replied the balloonist. "How did you know? "
"Well," said the man, "you don’t know where you are or where you are going. You’ve risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem. You’re in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but somehow, now it’s my fault.
It is my opinion that any red light being monitored with a red light camera should be identified, with a red light camera enforced sign. After all, is the purpose of the ticket to generate revenue, or increase safety ? There is a sign for everything these days, and this should be required. Here’s my mockup of how the 20th ave/Whitestone Expwy lights should look and how all such covered intersections be displayed.
My honey spotted these cut tree parts, and started to design a table.
The Malba Yacht Club had their new gate installed recently at the new marina being built.
We visited the engaged couple as they begin to setup their new apartment. Bedroom set was being delivered as the dads finish up some cleanup and construction. Good luck you guys, we love you.
Spotted this ’59 Thunderbird driving through the area. Ain’t it pretty ?
This tree was felled during the last storms. Imagine the power it takes to twist a tree like this !
Rosanne took some great pictures at the ALTSO event. Her favorite band Crossing Streams was featured. Crossing Streams plays ALTSO Event – Oct. 2010
We celebrated the 25th anniversary of TT working at the Bank the other day. A truly remarkable achievement, from a truly remarkable individual. Thank you TT, for all of your hard work, long hours, and contribution to our teams success.
Here’s an interesting perspective of the lobby construction going on. Had to tour the basement for a power shutdown exercise, and took these pics of the lobby, looking through the open floor from the basement….
I’ve been loading the kids on the block up on body parts. I hope they don’t turn into a Jeffrey Dahmer in a few years. These kids are WAY too into it…
