Me, Ro and Joe visited the USS New York today, and got to walk aboard and meet the crew. A fine crew they are, young and willing to serve our country for our freedom. An awesome experience. I took some great photos and hope you enjoy them – USS New York tour of ship – Nov. 2009. I left one of my Never Forget bracelets with the 9/11 steel plate plaque, and am honored to have it stay on that ship for it’s commission.

I get a real kick out of reading these stories. I especially like when these folks have beliefs that Muslims shouldn’t kill Muslims. How do they say that with a straight face. Did Hasan radicalize others at Fort Hood ? They seem to have no problem killing other Muslims when they have bombs strapped to themselves and then walk into a mosque, or market, or on a bus full of other Muslims. Retards.

Regarding the Ft. Hood Muslim terrorist killer. For me things are simple. He has stated that he was a Muslim first and an American second. That is opposite being American. I think that everyone would agree with me. Americans don’t give a shit what your religious beliefs are or aren’t. So long as you don’t shove them down our throats, we could care less. HOWEVER, an American is an American first and their religious beliefs, if any are secondary. If your religious beliefs somehow conflict with the country you decided to live in or move to, you should think about either moving away or adapting. You can’t decide to be here and think you can force your way of thinking on others. It’s time for you to leave or shut up and be an American first. I fault the American educational system for not teaching more of our constitution and founding father’s ideology that shaped America. With this guy, it’s even more important to acknowledge. Why ? Because he voluntarily ENLISTED in our Armed Forces.  You can’t join the service and think for a minute you have some option to ignore, disagree or otherwise influence the actions our commanding officers direct upon you. You are deployed where your country needs you. You weren’t drafted, or forced to serve, so you lose your right to ‘conscientiously object‘ to orders you receive from your superiors. You don’t get to choose your destination. This ain’t a fucking personal vacation in some far away luxury location.

And on a positive note, another US citizen Muslim terrorist gets executed on Tuesday. Just in time for the holidays. John Allen Muhammad gets to meet Allah on Tuesday, God willing. So, you see, God is Great. He must be so looking forward to that sweet, flowing river of honey and all those anxious virgins waiting for him. I hope he isn’t disappointed by having some liberals slow him down and cause a delay to his looming sexfest …

My son Joe turns 23 years old today. Simply saying we’re proud of him isn’t enough. A newly minted NYPD Police Officer, he makes his family proud each and every day. He has compassion, honor, modesty, energy, hope and willingness to serve. An all around good man, who has strong friendships, a healthy love life and a wonderful girlfriend. However, the most significant reason for his personality and well being is the bond he maintains with his 2 brothers and mother. When one things of the value of strong family bonds, his relationship with mom and bros are at the core of his success. I Love You Joe, we love you Joe, Happy Birthday !!!

The USS New York gets commissioned today in New York City. It’s a time to reflect upon the many sacrifices our young mean and women who have fallen in defense of our liberties.

This week began our 2010 health benefits open enrollment period at work. We were warned about significant increases and cuts in benefits, and they ain’t kidding. So far, my costs for the same coverage jumped by 121%. That’s right, doubled for one year period. They added a deductible, co-insurance, and out of pocket maximums. Shame on you all. Mind you, we haven’t had a pay increase in over 3 years, so with everything else going up around us, how is this supposed to work for us ?

Our youngest son, Frank, turns 17 years old today. Frank is a senior at Holy Cross High School, and maintains excellent grades. He has developed into a fine young man. He’s best friends with his mother, which is a great contribution to his maturity and compassion as a person. He’s best friends with his brothers as well. I’ve never seen 3 brothers as close as my 3 sons. Their relationship will sustain them through all time. They will always have each other. We are very proud of you Frank, and we love you very much. Happy Birthday !!!

As interesting as the article might be about our amazement that we’ve ’stumbled’ across 2 of these, I am more interested in the not talked about story here. Aren’t you the least bit curious how it is we have a freaking remote controlled car on the surface of freaking Mars, that has kept it’s charge, manages to recharge for over 5 freaking years without having to be plugged into a freaking wall outlet ? Our favorite nurse, KP seems to have gotten infected despite the vaccine. So be careful out there…. On the positive side, you will be able to identify anyone with the swine flu rather quickly.

So, today starts the H1N1 vaccinations in the US. I think that before regular citizens (or non-citizens) begin to take this shot, our leaders ought to lead by example. What do I mean ? Well, until Barry and his family and cabinet takes the shot. Then the Senate and House take theirs, we regular Americans can wait. If this vaccination is so safe and necessary, then these folks should be the first to take it, we wait a month or so, then we can take it. Many people are struggling with the decision to allow their kids to get this shot, and this would go a long way in allaying their fears for the families.

I bought meself a new camera. The Samsung DualView TL220, pretty slick camera, and at 12 megapixels blows the doors off of my old kool Kyocera. One of the nice things about it is the 27mm focal length, which allows for a slight wide-angle view. This is great for groups and building photos. The macro mode is pretty good too, so my macro shots will be super great going forward. I hope you enjoy the new images.

Today marks my birthday. I’m 52 today and another year closer to retiring. Things are pretty good. I love my wife, she still loves me, and our boys are wonderful young men. Some rascals broke into my car while it was parked at Shea all day. Took my gps and mp3 player. And I just loaded it up with new Shemekia Copeland tunes. At least they were neat about it, and smart enough to take the power adapters.

It was free day on 5th avenue the other day. You had your choice between coffee and coconut water. Yummy

More mystery surrounding Barry’s eligibility. Here is a story about 2, not 1 documents the DNC generated and had notarized when they prepared to  nominate Barry and Joe the retard for President and Vice-President. Seems one version is missing a key series of those pesky objects we call words. Words that can suggest some awareness about whether Barry Soetero is eligible to be our president. Besides the fact there are two versions, these documents can also be used as evidence AGAINST public education, because both versions spell the word ‘through’ wrong. Go figure. I would be very interested to see the version the DNC produced for the last election in 2004. To see which words were used then.

Don’t you find it interesting that those nightly news US serviceman death counts we used to get during the Bush administration have stopped ? The number of deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan are on the rise, he wants to increase troop levels,  but no news outlet mentions it since Dear Leader was elected. How shameful is that ? If Bush tried to add one more soldier it was a news bulletin. This guy is extending tours and adding more guys to the fight, but nary a peep from the MSM.

Well, it’s been 8 years since that awful day, and it really doesn’t get better. All year long it kinda feels like it’s getting better, but as the days draw closer it kind of slows down again and it begins to set in. Like I said, September is a weird month for me, and this day starts it all. Do what you can, we have to get through it. We must reflect and remember the day. We have to remember the days and months after. We are New Yorkers, so it will make us slip and trip, but we’ll be fine and stronger and better for it. This weekend KM volunteered her great artistic abilities to this project and competed the ribbon and a peace sign that Ro wanted. It came out great and means so much as we approach 8 years. Never Forget 09.11.2001 ribbon. I am also curious to see how long it takes Google Maps to show the new roof.

It’s definitely a good sign that Van Jones resigned, however, I think it took too long to happen. We the People need to keep up this sort of pressure, as it does work. And kudos to Glenn Beck who paved the way for this to occur. We need to continue challenging the picks and direction that dear leader is taking us, and get that man to get back to the center.

JjLJr got his Queens College Diploma in the mail today. Congratulations son, we are very proud of you.

Work continues on our new bocce ball courts down at Whitestone Park.

We have an amazing amount of nature in our College Point. There’s new caterpillars in our yard, and hawks down at Whitestone Park.

All sorts of couples were down the park this weekend. Even the horseshoe crabs enjoy the beach.

They are finally working on this old house near the Malba Circle. It’s nice to see if beginning to shine and come to new life.
